Representations are confirmed

05 Dec, 2011 01:00 AM
IN LAST month's Break O'Day Council meeting the council re-assessed which councillors would represent council interests on several community boards.

After each local government election the council elects at least one councillor to the board of several special council committees.

Cr Margaret Osborne will continue to represent the council on the St Helens and Districts Chamber of Commerce and Tourism board and on the Break O'Day Health Resource Association board, as she has done for many years.

Mayor Sarah Schmerl will provide feedback to the council on the Break O'Day Business Enterprise board, which she is president of, while Cr Glenn McGuiness will replace Cr Reon Johns on the Star FM board.

Cr John McGiveron will remain chairman of the Georges Bay Barway Management Committee but will be joined by Cr John LeFevre after he showed considerable interest on the matter. Deputy Mayor Hannah Rubenach will be the council's voice on the NRM Special Committee.
