MORE than 200 Tasmanian Lions club members congregated at Triabunna for its state convention last month.
Hosted by the Spring Bay Lions Club and co-ordinated by Mick and Robyn Desmond, the three-day convention provided 33 clubs from across the state an opportunity to converse and share ideas.
Close to 1250 people are members of one of the 50 Lions Clubs in Tasmania.
The theme for this year was working with youth, or "Leos".
International Young Leo of the Year Tom Porter was among many guests to address the convention.
"Several speakers spoke on various subjects throughout the convention, from the effects of depression to banking and sponsorship," Spring Bay member Mick Fama said.
"Mick Desmond received great applause when he presented his new project - a hearing dog that is now living with her master at Triabunna."
Delegates were given the Saturday afternoon to explore the region and attend Seafest, which was held in Triabunna the same weekend.
A dinner was held with a back-to-school theme at the Triabunna District School and many attendees were dressed accordingly.
On Sunday, a remembrance service was held in memory of 13 members or partners that died during the year and a tree was planted in their memory at the Spring Bay RSL Club.
